Mitchell Visoky

Mitchell Visoky is a contemporary, multidisciplinary, visual artist from White Piains, NY working with a variety of media and processes to create abstract and representational images. His inspiration comes from unique qaulites of nature and the built environment. Inspirations for his work include  architctural stuctures, land formations and patterns, textural objects and surfaces.

 

He works in the areas of monotypes, collage, mixed media, encaustic and acrylic paintings and fused glass. Into his hand-pulled monotype prints he often incorporates collage, drawing, paper lithography, and other mixed media giving his work a rich visual experience for the viewer. His encaustic images are a collaboration of various media: wax, charcoal, transfers, hand-printed paper, and oil stick.

 

His award-winning images have been exhibited at regional solo and group venues including: Vanderbilt Museum (Long Island, NY), Castle Gallery (New Rochelle, NY), Hammond Museum (North Salem, NY), Salmagundi Gallery (NYC, NY), Muscarelle Museum of Art (VA) and the Pendle Print Biennial in Lancashhire, England.

 

A supporter of the arts in his community, Visoky has shared his talents with many organizations including the Mamaroneck Artists Guild, Larchmont, NY and the New York State Art Teacher’s Association. He belongs to the Katonah Museum Art Association, ArtsWestchester, the Mamaroneck Artists Guild, Silvermine Art Center, the Rye Art Center, and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking.

 

His work is in private collections as well as Montefiore Hospital, Bronx, NY.

 

He holds a B.S. in Art Education from Buffalo State College and a M.S. in Studio Art from the College of New Rochelle and resides in White Plains, NY. His studio is in Port Chester, NY.
