Noami Grossman

Naomi Grossman is a mixed media artist whose works reference the female form, whether in works on paper, wire sculpture or painting. She is showing her series Holding My Breath, a set of mixed media on photo limited edition prints. Grossman has combined the cropped images of the female form with mixed media and words. This is a series of portraits of women in their naked strength and beauty as well as a necessary self-protectiveness. She shows women in all their complexity, revealing both their strength and vulnerability in our constantly changing world. Her work brings up issues of desire, loss, hope and the wish for connection and love.

Naomi has been in many exhibits in NY, Massachusetts, Long Island City and others including invitationals such as Art of the Five at the Interchurch Center in Manhattan and the LI Biennial. She’s been a visiting artist at Queens College, CUNY, Franklin & Marshall, Penn State and others. She’s been the recipient of NYS SOS grants, a fellow at Hambidge Art Center and Ragdale Art Residency. She recently moved her art studio from Long Island City to New Rochelle where she now resides.
