America 250, Red, White or Blue
This exhibit was curated by the New Rochelle Art Association
The New Rochelle Art Association was formally created in 1912. The original group of artists included Charles F. Ayer, Frederick Dana Marsh, Remington Schuyler, F. Edwin Church and a few others. By 1914 the Association grew to what was considered an artist colony with many prominent artists and illustrators of the day such as Joseph C. Leyndecker, Ernest Albert, Norman Rockwell and Clare Briggs. The association today continues that esteemed history in providing opportunities for local artists.
