Curatorial Statement – Ephemeral Petals, Eternal Strokes
Flowers speak in a language of impermanence, yet their essence lingers beyond their bloom. Ephemeral Petals, Eternal Strokes is a tribute to this contrast, where nature’s fleeting beauty meets the artist’s lasting touch.
Fifteen ikebana-style installations breathe life into space, their sculptural presence harmonizing with hyper-realistic watercolor and oil paintings, while encaustic works preserve petals in wax, as if time itself has paused to admire them. Among these, a collection titled In Praise of Life arrives from Iran, carrying the weight of resilience. Created during the Women, Life, Freedom movement—a time when living was forcibly halted, and youth were silenced in the streets—these works stand as proof that life continues to bloom even in the face of destruction.
In this garden of artistic expression, each piece invites you to pause, to observe, to feel the quiet dialogue between decay and devotion, resistance and remembrance. As petals fall, brushstrokes remain—an eternal bloom captured in time.
